Devastated by wild fires this year, California needs our help now more than ever. We’re planting trees in the Plumas National Forest to help recoup the 65,000 acres burned in the 2007 Moonlight Fire.

Recent years of unhealthy forests have been major contributors to Florida’s disastrous wildfires so we’ve decided on this project in Wakulla State Forest, FL in efforts to help restore this biodiverse ecosystem.

Oregon

Forests are shrinking on state and private land in Oregon, where an estimated 522,000 acres of forest cover have disappeared since 2000. That’s an area 6x larger than the city of Portland, equal to more than half of Oregon’s designated state forest.

Merrimack River Watershed

The Merrimack River Watershed totals 2.1 million acres, is the fourth largest watershed in New England, and is split almost evenly between New Hampshire (54%) and Massachusetts (46%).The watershed is experiencing rapid development and fragmentation of its heavily forested rural, suburban and exurban areas.

East Montpelier Riparian Restoration

This project is the restoration of a forested riparian buffer along a stream in East Montpelier, VT. The parcel includes land on both sides of the stream and is almost entirely open.A significant portion of the land has been managed most recently for hay production by a local dairy farm.

Piscataquis County

The goal of this work is to evaluate site preparation treatments and planting as tools for forest rehabilitation in the context of global climate change. We propose planting red spruce (Picea rubens) seedlings on 12 ha of a 16 ha of mixedwood forest.


George Washington & Jefferson National Forest

The George Washington and Jefferson National Forest contains nearly 1.8 million acres; one of the largest blocks of public land in the eastern United States.

Gifford Pinchot National Forest

The project carried out by the National Forest Foundation (NFF) in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest aims to improve the health and vitality of the forest.

Sainte Marguerite River

The project aims to revegetate the banks of the Marguerite River and its tributaries beyond the regulatory 3 meters. The 10,000 trees will be planted in staggered rows every 2 meters on a strip 3 meters wide. The target species are willows, maples and oaks. an 80% survival rate is targeted.

Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest

This project focuses on restoring and improving key habitats for wildlife, such as breeding, feeding, and sheltering areas.

Umpqua National Forest

The partnership with the Umpqua National Forest focuses on restoring and maintaining the North Umpqua Watershed through a series of targeted projects.

Malheur National Forest

This project focuses on the management and conservation of the Malheur National Forest, spanning a vast 1.7 million acres in the remote eastern reaches of Oregon’s Blue Mountains.

Uganda

Mount Elgon is an extinct shield volcano located on the border of Uganda and Kenya. Is known for its rich biodiversity.

Canada British Columbia

In 2017, forest fires swept through British Columbia, destroying one million hectares of land and tens of millions of trees. One Tree Planted is planting 1 million trees in BC to help the land and forests recover.

Protection and restoration of high Andean forests, impacting other ecosystems from wetlands and peatlands to rainforests.
